A Mother’s Love Brought Her to CCNH

Catherine is the type of mother any child would be lucky to have – hardworking, faithful and always looking to cook a nutritious, filling dinner for her and her four kids.

That devotion was recently tested when an unexpected medical sent her modest budget into chaos, and she fell behind on her gas bill. The shutoff meant Catherine could no longer cook her children’s favorite chicken dish or prepare eggs and pasta for her 14-month-old daughter. With a gas water heater in the house, cold baths were the only option for the kids.

Catherine reached out to our Community Services program, which advocated on their behalf with the gas company, securing a manageable payment plan. We also helped Catherine develop a sustainable budget and connected her to SNAP resources to ensure her family had enough food.

The impact of your support extends far beyond financial assistance. It empowers families like Catherine’s to regain stability and hope. Today, Catherine’s home is filled with the delicious smells of home-cooked meals once again, and the giggles of her toddler as she splashes in the warm bath. And we continue to walk alongside them as they move closer to financial stability – enabling Catherine to be the amazing mother she is.

This is another example of bringing healing, comfort, and empowerment to those who need it most. Thank you for all that you do!
