Guardian Angel Establishes Energy Assistance Fund for Greater Berlin Residents
Guardian Angel Thrift Shop and Catholic Charities NH today announced the creation of a $10,000 energy assistance fund to help individuals and families in the Greater Berlin area facing financial hardship or emergency energy needs this winter.
The fund, generated through sales proceeds at the Guardian Angel Thrift Shop, will be administered by the Catholic Charities NH District Office in Berlin. Beginning on January 6, qualifying residents of the Greater Berlin area – including Berlin, Milan, Dummer, and Errol – can apply for assistance with energy expenses, including fuel, electricity, oil, and gas.
“With winter approaching and energy prices soaring, we understand the added burden this places on many households in our community,” said Nicole Plourde of Catholic Charities NH. “This fund will meet urgent needs, ensuring more residents don’t have to endure another harsh winter without heat or electricity. None of this would be possible without the incredible generosity of our community – those who donate items, shop at the store, or volunteer their time. It’s a shining example of the ripple effect of giving back.”
The Guardian Angel Thrift Shop, a program of Catholic Charities NH, is a volunteer-driven shop offering a wide range of clothing, collectibles, furniture, and other household items. It is located at 153 Grafton Street in Berlin.
