New Generation Awarded Grant from Eastern Bank Foundation

New Generation, a program of Catholic Charities NH, was awarded a $50,000 grant from the Eastern Bank Foundation to help more New Hampshire mothers and children overcome the challenges of homelessness and build self-sufficient futures with stable housing and jobs.

The funding will support New Generation’s holistic approach to helping families who are facing homelessness due to a lack of affordable housing, combined with individual challenges such as domestic violence, financial hardship, substance misuse and mental health issues. These services include safe shelter, intensive case management, employment assistance, and support in transitioning to permanent housing. Once housed, families receive ongoing stabilization services to prevent recurring homelessness. 88% of families in New Generation’s stabilization services maintain their housing one year after moving out of New Generation’s shelter.

“The support of our community powers our mission, and we’re incredibly grateful to the Eastern Bank Foundation for its commitment to helping families build brighter futures,” said Elsy Cipriani, executive director of New Generation. “This grant will open doors to transformative opportunities and create safe, nurturing homes where families can flourish.”

Eastern Bank Foundation is committed to supporting local nonprofit organizations creating systemic and sustained change in their communities, particularly in areas related to fostering safe and affordable housing, promoting workforce development, and enriching early childhood development.
