Catholic Charities New Hampshire, one of the state’s largest non-profit social services organizations, completed the acquisition of the programs and assets held by The CareGivers, Inc. (“CareGivers”), a not-for-profit organization whose mission since 1984 has been to aid elderly and disabled citizens in the greater Manchester and Nashua areas. The CareGivers will now operate as a program of Catholic Charities, retaining its name, as it continues to assist clients through the Rides for Living transportation services, the Caring Cupboard mobile food pantry and other various forms of support aimed at preserving their independence and enabling them to remain at home. Today’s acquisition follows the execution of a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) executed in September and subsequent negotiations to restructure CareGivers to enable Catholic Charities to assume oversight of its operations.
